Writing for Engineers
Analysis of Article
As I mentioned in my discussion board, I selected this article because I am a customer who uses their service. Any news that relates to them relates to me. Plus, it is fascinating to read about a sci-fi innovation that most of us seen in movies come to life. I still find it crazy to how technology is advancing at a rapid pace. I found the article on CNBC’s website through an internet search; the journal entire was a reliable source, so I continue to read the piece. If the report were to be uploaded on some blog, I would have exited the website because a random blog doesn’t have the trustworthiness to consider the author’s writing. Creditability is essential to the reader; no one likes wasting their time reading up on a subject that is not factual.
The author is Annie Palmer, I don’t know much besides her name because it was posted alongside the entire, but I trust that everything she wrote was accurate due to the news source creditability. I believe she did a good job communicating Amazon’s new feature to its audience. The audience is the customers of Amazon. It would be of interest to learn about Prime Air and when they should expect to occupy it. Palmer’s purpose was to inform the public to where Amazon stands with its innovation. As recently they have just gotten approved from the FAA, she also explains the drones’ capability, they can carry 5lb packages, and fly up to 15 miles high, deliver it within 30 minutes. Throughout the article, the author has an unbiased, neutral tone in her journalism, writing to update the public on what’s to come.
I favor Prime Air because I am an impatient person who expects to receive her package the moment she places the order. A shared attribute of individuals is people like anything that is quick and easy. As I read the comments left by my classmates, I was first pleased to see that my post got many of my classmates involved. Most likely, since they could relate to the post because almost everyone and their mothers use Amazon. Many of the comments weighed out the pros and cons to Prime Air, emphasizing issues, such as how air traffic would be regulated, its harmful effect on birds, and the loss of jobs it would cause. Topics that were not discussed in the journal report but should be taken into consideration. As I continued reading the comments, I noticed the tone in my writing; I wrote positively about the drones because of how it would benefit me without looking at other outcomes. On the other hand, the article did say that the drones are still being tested to ensure it to be entirely safe and efficient before it could be launched.
